SYNNEX and SEAGATE LOOK TOWARDS STRENGTHENED DISTRIBUTION PARTNERSHIP
SYNNEX continues a long-standing distribution partnership with Seagate Technology, Inc., with increased focus on the growth of storage products across multiple market segments.
Fremont, CA (February 1, 1999) - SYNNEX Information Technologies, Inc., a leading distributor of computer products and peripherals, announced today that Seagate Technology, Inc. (NYSE:SEG) will continue a long-standing relationship with SYNNEX as one of its key distribution partners. Seagate's new strategy, which concentrates on a select group of six Authorized Distributors in the Americas, is designed to strengthen Seagate's distribution sales efforts and build upon its successful channel business-serving the distribution channel even more effectively. The six Seagate Authorized Americas Distributors share Seagate's belief in the strategic importance of storage products and in future growth opportunity across significant markets. With this new direction in the distribution channel, Seagate will be able to support resellers with additional people and resources and sharpen its focus on key channel partners. "As a long-time strategic partner of Seagate, SYNNEX is very happy with Seagate's focus on distribution strategy and their confidence in SYNNEX," said Robert T. Huang, SYNNEX's President and CEO." Seagate's strategy to focus on key channel partners and leverage their strengths should only lead to stronger partnerships in this key market segment. Anytime we can offer a more efficient, synchronized and proactive program through the channel, we all win. We believe that our core capabilities- distribution to resellers and OEMs and our channel assembly expertise-are perfectly matched to Seagate's channel direction." SYNNEX maintains a similar focus in its distribution strategy, choosing strategic partnerships with only the top vendors in each product category instead of a more general product offering. "Seagate's decision very closely mirrors our own strategy, where we partner with a select group of industry leading vendors and focus our resources on driving those programs," continued Huang. "We wholeheartedly support this strategy and believe that our relationship and success with Seagate will continue to grow stronger."
